Mpah Haiti Film Festival rule overview
Purpose and goal
The MPAH Haiti Film Festival aims to identify and honor outstanding films from around the world, especially those that deeply reflect social reality, demonstrate creative talent, and promote cultural exchange and understanding. Through this platform, we are committed to promoting the prosperity of film art, providing a stage for film creators to display and exchange, while bringing the audience a rich and varied movie experience.
2. eligibility
Film types: accept drama, documentary, short films, animation and other types of film entries.
Completion time: all entries must be made before the official registration deadline.
Copyright and licensing: participants must own the full copyright of the film or have obtained the legal authorization of the copyright owner to ensure that the festival has the right to show and promote the film.
Language requirement: French or English subtitles are required for non-french or English films.
Registration and submission
Online registration: participants must complete online registration through the official website of the festival, and upload film introduction, director and main actor information, trailer (short films can submit the full works) and other information.
Complete Works submission: Selected films are required to submit the full works of the high-definition digital version in accordance with the requirements of the festival notice.
Registration Fee: A certain amount of registration fee is charged according to the type and length of the film.
Review process
Preliminary selection: The Film Festival Organizing Committee organized by the professional jury for the initial screening of films to select films in line with the standard into the re-selection.
Re-selection: the re-selection panel will further evaluate the shortlisted films, from the artistic value, technical quality, creative performance and other dimensions of consideration, to select the nominees for various awards.
Final Review: During the festival, the final jury will watch the nominated films, and conduct on-site discussion and voting to determine the final awards.
Fifth, the awards set
Best Feature Film Award: for the Best overall performance of a Feature Film.
Best Director Award: for a Director who has made an outstanding contribution to the art of directing.
Best Actor Award: for Outstanding Performance in a film.
Best Actress Award: for Outstanding Performance in a film.
Best Screenplay Award: An Award for Creative and insightful screenwriting.
The Best Cinematography Award is Academy Award for Best Cinematography to photographers who have achieved a high standard of visual presentation.
Best Documentary Award: Focusing on the category of Documentary, awards for works that are deeply rooted in social reality and have a humanistic concern.
Best Short Film Award: Short films are encouraged for their unique creativity and craftsmanship in a limited time frame.
Best Music Award: Original Music that adds color to a film.
Best Editing Award: an Award given to an editor who improves the rhythm and narrative of a film through precise Editing.
Best Visual Effects Award: A Film That recognizes excellence in Visual Effects.
Best Costume Design Award for BAFTA Award for Best Costume Design who add glamour to a film character.
Best Sound Design Award: for creating an atmosphere and enhancing the movie experience through Sound Design.
Best New Director Award: An Award for an up-and-coming Director whose first feature or short film shows his or her extraordinary talent.
Audience Choice Award: a film chosen by the festival Audience to reflect their preferences.
Show and exchange
All shortlisted films will be showcased at designated cinemas during the festival period and will have the opportunity to participate in a post-screening exchange session with audiences and industry experts.
The festival will also organize industry forums, round-table discussions and other activities to promote film creators, investors, distributors and other parties to exchange and cooperation.
Copyright and rights
The festival reserves the right to use clips, posters, stills and other materials of the participating films in the process of publicity, promotion and screening.
Participants are required to bear all legal liabilities and consequences arising from their participation in the competition.
